Background: The client required a dedicated executive search service to tailor a carefully selected joint venture management team for a major project. Experience mining and marketing a particular iron ore product into Asia was required. The team members would need to include executives who would be able to manage the feasibility studies, engineering, design, development, implementation, construction and operation of a multi-billion dollar port, rail, and multiple mine site operation.

Solution: The extensive multilayered research process conducted by Hugo Lang identified the pool of executives who had previously or currently worked effectively within the relevant top tier companies, with the specific product. Working in partnership with the Project Director, Hugo Lang put together a cohesive and hand picked team of complementary talents and skills, while considering corporate cultural fit. Each specialise in their discipline of marketing, commercial management, technical process, mine planning and product blending, civil, marine and mining infrastructure.

The process required an iterative approach to investigate, attract, assess, develop and select individuals who could work at the required level and project size, who could work independently and collaboratively as a corporate team, bringing new ideas, innovation and establish systems, as well as create new markets for the product.
